Our Vision & Mission

at International Teams is to see…
“After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands.” Revelation 7:9

Our vision begins with individuals responding to the good news of Jesus and seeing their lives transformed by the power of God.

Few things manifest the power of the gospel more clearly than the reconciliation of opposing segments of societies. The purpose of God throughout history is leading toward a people of God unified in Christ across boundaries of hatred and prejudice. The breaking down of human barriers through the power of Christian love is a testimony of Christ’s real presence in the world, and of the wisdom of God to the spiritual world. The healing of individual lives, forgiveness for horrible wounds inflicted, and the reconciling of whole groups are key outcomes of our ministry.

We are commissioned to make disciples. International Teams is not content with seeing individuals merely accept Christian beliefs. Our ministry effectiveness is measured by lives that bear lasting fruit.

True Christian community cannot exist without individuals who have been changed by the power of God.

Our deep commitment to the local church is reflected in our desire to build community that honours God and the ultimate community – the Kingdom of God. By God’s love and grace, and through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, relationships can be powerfully healed and restored, so that a transformed and transforming community may be born.

When International Teams speaks of community transformation, we:

  • Seek to model that community within our teams. Each of our ministry teams includes members of the national church as well as the International Teams strategic workers. We build Incarnational teams that are in constant transformation themselves and also impact individual lives, churches, and the community around them.
  • Seek to plant, invigorate, empower and assist the local church in building churches that are transforming communities of faith. High impact. Reconcilers. Caring. Change agents.
  • Want the local community to be transformed by the power of God and then to give glory to the Father in the city. The true church is light in darkness, salt in rotting meat, and a bright sword in murky moral fog. We are about incarnation not isolation and separation. If our own transforming community of faith is not itself transforming the community around it we have little to tell Jesus when he asks what we did when we found him naked, hungry, and thirsty.

Our dream is to see a growing number of Australian churches actively engaged in their global mission of compassionate evangelism.

We believe churches are the key to engage in God’s work both locally and globally. We want to see people nurtured, called, sent, and supported by their local church, making an impact in Australia and around the globe.

In accepting the Lausanne Covenant, we embrace the concept of “the whole church taking the whole gospel to the whole world. We want to help Australian churches take the gospel to the whole world, coming alongside them to help fulfill these God-given dreams to be actively involved in helping the poor and oppressed.
